If you’re tired of hunting for Magic Cubes for your beloved Polaroid Big shot or own a hacked Polaroid Big Shot that used Polaroid or Instax film and Magic Cubes don’t work with that anyway, I have just you need!

Introducing THE BIG FLASH, a sync adapter that goes over the Magic Cube connector and provides a convenient and modern 2.5mm phono female connector so you can attach whatever modern wired flash your hearts desires, or a hot shoe adapter to you can use a pocket wizard or a flash without a sync port.

I added a test photo done with a one of the production units and vintage GN 22 flash with zoomable head (set to 50mm fl) and a Big Stax, aka a Big Shot modified to shoot instax wide and currently made in Barcelona / Paris and sold worldwide by Gregory Hervelin – find him on FB or Instagram @gregoryhervelin ). I’ll add more test photos.

This comes packaged with a convenient cold shoe build into a bracket that installs over the Big Shot body so you can attach your flash or accessory there.

NEW: I am also including a JJC Hot Shoe adapter that you can attach to the plastic bracket so you can simply attach any flash with a hot shoe connector on the bottom or a wireless transmitter.

The sync adapter AND the bracket are secured with two tiny #2 screws for plastic, so you will have to drill tiny holes using the mounting holes as guides. I found using a 1/16″ (~1.6mm) drill bit works well. I don’t foresee you’d ever take them off, but if you want to, all it takes is a screwdriver. I don’t recommend using double sided tape, the cold shoe won’t hold anything if mounted with double sided tape and the sync adapter may not work well and possibly come off when you least want it.

This comes with  a 2.5mm male to PC sync cable that connects the THE BIG FLASH sync adapter to the JJC Hot Shoe adapter provided. You can also use your own sync cable to anything else, as long as one end is a 2.5mm male sync connection.
