Description
Introducing the Analogue.Studio Polaroid Big Shot x Lomograflok !
Expect about a 5 weeks lead time from the moment you order or I receive your Big Shot for modification. I do NOT HAVE THESE IN STOCK, all orders are pre-orders.
After releasing the Super Big Shot (Polaroid Big Shot modified to shoot modern integral Polaroid film) I was asked why not make a version that used a Lomograflok to shoot instax wide. Well, here is is.
Read all information below before ordering.
Also, watch the Polaroid Big Shot x Lomograflok user guide video !
So, what is this?
Is a vintage Polaroid Big Shot camera that:
- Uses a removable (slides in and out) Lomography Lomograflok to shoot Fuji Instax Wide film – dark slide, automatic eject, etc
- Comes with one of my own The Big Shot modern flash sync adapters so you can use your own flash – sync via a 2.5mm sync port or a hot shoe adapter (connected to The Big Flash adapter via a 2.5mm to PC Sync cord).
The Lomograflok is NOT included, and neither is the flash. This unit needs a lot of light, use a flash with a Guide Number (in m) bigger than 30-35, does not need to be TTL. I recommend you don’t use a vintage flash, they are not reliable. There are many $50-60 models for sale on Amazon or ebay that fit the bill.
The Big Shot has a fixed focus lens. To focus, look through the viewfinder and use the “Big Shot shuffle” – move yourself and the camera back and forth until the two images in the center of the viewfinder align, indicating the subject is in focus. Do this right, it’s VERY sensitive to the distance.Â
Framing is a _little_ different. The framelines in the Big Shot are designed for a 3 inches x 4 inches image, the size of the 3×4 packfilm images. Coincidentally the size of an Instax Wide print is about the same size, but this includes the white strip at the bottom that houses the chemical pods, the _image_ area is 2.4 inches x 4″.
You can account for this framing if you imagine a non used area about 15mm (0.6″) wide on the left of the frame. So center a bit to the right and you’re good. Do a few practice shots.
I sell these as a ready to use camera (just add your Lomograflok and flash) or as a service to modify your own Big Shot. I do not service Big Shots, what you send me is what you get back, your camera needs to work well – including the little plastic tab that pops the Magic Cubes – I used the same mechanism to close an electrical contact for the flash sync.
Also, these are a PAIN to make, and I am busy otherwise, so expect about a 5 weeks lead time from the moment you order or I receive your Big Shot for modification. I do NOT HAVE THESE IN STOCK, all orders are pre-orders.
